About Me
Hi, my name is Linda Parkinson-Hardman, but my friends call me by many things including LPH and Lindy, you’ll find me as Linda here though. You may wonder what I’m doing setting up a website/blog specifically about LinkedIn and my book LinkedIn Made Easy, but I guess it came about in one of those moments of inspiration you often have but never act on. This time though, I’ve actually acted on it.
I’ve worked with the Internet since the 1980’s and the web since the mid 1990’s; you could say I’ve grown up with it! In fact I’ve been running one website – The Hysterectomy Association – since 1996 and I sort of have the feeling that I might know just a thing or two about what goes on in the wonderful online world.
About 20 days ago I asked a question on LinkedIn about success stories for social media, my intention was to use anything I got as case studies in the work I do with my clients around Internet Marketing; the only problem was that I didn’t really get the responses I was looking for. Then it dawned on me late last week when I was talking about having finished my latest book called LinkedIn Made Easy, that perhaps here was the opportunity I was looking for. Not only to sell my e-book, but also to prove to myself and the people I work with, that Social Media and Networking really does work. Thus, the 200,000 e-Books sold in 30 days experiment was born, it went live on 23rd November 2009 and completed on 23rd December 2009 – you can find out how it went in the blog post about the challenge update.
I’m also a passionate believer in helping others to help themselves, in fact it’s one of the basic premises which runs through both The Hysterectomy Association and my consultancy business, Grow A Better Business; so I also conceived the idea that 40% of ALL the profits from the sale of the e-Book will be donated to charities which also help others to help themselves.
Do YOU think you can help me achieve my goal?
